I discovered yoga in my 30’s as a way to help manage my arthritis symptoms. My first class stirred something deep inside of me that led me to yoga teacher training, something I never imagined I would do.
With arthritis, there are limitations to what my body can and cannot do. Rather than be defeated I use yoga to physically help me move my stiff joints. Thanks to this physical practice I am able to move better now than when I was in my 20’s.
With continuous practice, my body
became stronger and stronger. I found I could move beyond the gentle yoga sequences to more advanced and challenging core practices. This allowed me to expand my class offerings.
As I enter a new stage of life (I am 50 and definitely feel those menopause symptoms) my body is changing yet again. I find myself back on the mat as a way to alleviate my aching body.
